4 Days in The Land of Tom Yum Goong

Bangkok 25 March 2016 - 28 March 2016

At Changi Airport Departure Area

Arrived in Bangkok Don Meung Airport at 7pm. Got our SIM card at the airport and then took bus A2 to Mo Chit BTS station, where we then took the BTS down to National Stadium stop. The hostel that we stayed at, Lub D, is located just by the National Stadium BTS stop. We checked-in and dumped our stuff in our room, and headed out immediately to search for food! Walked a long way along the streets which were selling clothes, until we finally arrived at the street near Siam, where there’s fooooood! Hungry us bought basil pork rice and phad thai (thick noodles). Yummy! :) Haha, on our way back, we bought mango sticky rice and banana prata with condensed milk! Ate it at the common area of our hostel, which is a nice place to chill out :)

End of Day 1

26 March 2016 Saturday

I woke up really early, around 7am and couldn't sleep anymore! Watched some shows on the iPad while waiting for my sis to wake up! Haha, we went out at around 930am and headed to Chatuchak market! Took the BTS down to Mo Chit Station. The first thing we did was to look for Viva 8 because I really wanted to try the Paella there! We got to the shop at 10.30am and the chef was just starting to cook his first batch of paella for the day. He told us that it would take another 30mins so we walked around Chatuchak while waiting for him to be done cooking! It's interesting to watch him cook because he would be throwing long beans around (and at the customers) haha. Towards the end, he was performing magic tricks to the young kids as well! LOL, I can totally see his passion for what he's doing! :) Love it!

Look at this awesomeness!

Round-up of our Chatuchak experience!

After Chatuchak, we headed to Siam for the famous After You Dessert Cafe. LOL, it was such a coincidence because... I met Selica and her BF there!!! We didn't plan to meet there!!!! Her number was A128 and mine was A129! What a coincidence!!! We didn't even see each other until it was almost going to be our turn, and then she spotted my familiar backpack :) Hence, we decided to eat together so that we can order more desserts to try!!!

Round-up of Day 2!

27 March 2016 Sunday

Today's the day of mega-shopping and insane amount of walking! Woke up and headed to eat the wanton mee and pork with rice! It's not bad... At Platinum, got the chocolate banana crepe to try! LOL, I think it smells nicer than it taste! I love the smell of the crepes whenever they cook it.

After Platinum mall, we headed to Big C to shop for food and snacks!!! Dumped our stuff back at the hostel and then went out to Central World for more shopping... and food! Tried the Red Bean Croissant Taiyaki there! It's good! :)

Round-up of first part of Day 3

After Central World, we went to The Artbox at EM District. It's really the land of gimmicky food! Lots of interesting stuff there... but some of them are really super gimmicky. For example, selling colored soda water in "blood bags" lol...

Nutella Brownie Pizza! :O

Grilled Squid

Round-up of second part of Day 3

And... that's not the end of the day yet! Gosh, I don't know whether it was a good thing or bad thing... but we went to Rod Fai Market after Artbox! Haha, it was really really tiring... but at least we got to see a different market! And guess what!!! I FOUND MY JAPANESE SWEET POTATO!!! OMG I LOVE ITTT! I BOUGHT 2 TO EAT!!!! EVEN THOUGH I WAS FULL... BUT OF COURSE, I HAVE TO EAT MY SWEET POTATO :)

Round-up of third part of Day 3

28 March 2016 Monday

Totally crashed out over the night! Was really exhausted! Haha, woke up in the morning, and headed to MBK to buy some last minute snacks! After that, we headed to Siam for JAP FOOD!!! Omg, I think this is my most satisying meal in Bangkok!!! I LOVE JAP FOOD!!! If I had a choice, I would rather just eat Jap food for every meal the next time I go back to Bangkok :)

Ippudo Ramen

Salmon Roll!!!

Gyudon!

Walked past some interesting walls and took photos with them!

Bought myself a build-your-own-salad as well! Finally tried quinoa! Haha, I love all the grilled veg like pumpkin as well.
