As we had no itinerary for our last day in Sri Lanka, we decided to visit Ratnapura, the city of gems. However, it was a really bad choice! I didn't check out the map properly the day before, and I didn't know that we had to make a HUGEEEEEEE detour in order to reach Ratnapura from Hatton. We ended up being stucked on the bus for HOURS as we had to first take a bus to Balangoda before taking another bus to Ratnapura. Even climbing Adam's Peak from the Hatton side and coming down on the Ratnapura side would be faster than the bus itself!!!

There isn't much in Ratnapura town, other than the shops selling gems. Got approached by a few people trying to sell us sapphire stones which we rejected (no money for that!)

Clock Tower

My last King Coconut in Sri Lanka before heading back!
