We came to Arugam Bay from Haputale which was quite a long ride!
How we got from Haputale to Arugam Bay:
Bus from Haputale to Wellawaya
Bus from Wellawaya to Monaragala
Bus from Monaragala to Pottuvil
Tuktuk from Pottuvil to Arugam Bay
We had to keep changing bus and we only managed to get to Arugam Bay at night! We dropped our bags at Lazy Bay (where we stayed) and decided to head out to check out the beach (even though it's dark) and have dinner. We had a seafood platter at Why Not Restaurant which had crabs, prawns, calamari and fish! I really loved how the floor of the restaurant is sand instead of concrete! It's really cool!
The next morning, we decided to try catching the sunrise at about 530 a.m. The beach was pretty empty so it was good being able to just walk down the beach without anyone disturbing us or approaching us to buy stuff etc.Spent some time just walking along the beach and also watching people surf! Didn't try out surfing though! Maybe next time :)
