Woke up at 530 am to make our way to Colombo. Bought rice and curry for breakfast at The Bake House by the Pettah Floating Market. It tasted pretty good and kept me full for the entire bus journey. We got on the Bus 48 at Colombo heading towards Polonnaruwa and it took us about 5 hours to get to Dambulla. Had lunch (rice and curry again) immediately after getting off the bus. It was super filling to eat rice and curry for both breakfast and lunch and I felt really full! And apart from the rice and curry, I bought 100 rupees worth of bananas (about 1kg) as well.

After lunch, we took another bus to Sigiriya. We managed to get off at the right bus stop which was just about 100 metres from the hostel that we booked - Nature Walk Sigiriya. The location is really convenient and the host was really friendly and nice!

After we dropped our bags at the hostel, we took a tuktuk for 300 rupees to get to Pidurangala Temple as we decided to climb the Pidurangala Rock instead of the Sigiriya Rock. The entrance fee for the Pidurangala Rock is only 500 rupees while the entrance ticket for Sigiriya is 3000+ rupees. It's kinda crazy to pay more than 30SGD to climb a rock and so... we decided that Pidurangala would be a better choice.

The view from the top of Pidurangala Rock is really nice and it's probably the same view (or very similar) to what you can get from the top of Sigiriya Lion Rock!
