This morning, we took a bus from Anuradhapura to Mihintale. Took a short walk before reaching the base where we were greeted by the sight of the long flight of stairs. Mihintale is regarded as one of the most sacred sights in Sri Lanka as it is one of the 16 places Buddha had visited in Sri Lanka.

After climbing up to the main area, there's 3 main structures - the Maha Stupa, Aradhana Gala and a huge statue of Buddha. The climb up Aradhana Gala is the most adventurous and fun of them all. Haha, I enjoy climbing up such stuff which requires slightly more effort than usual due to the steep steps as well as the narrow pathway and metal rails on only one side of the climb. This reminds me a little of Huashan in China where there were some steep sections and different areas to climb up!

Anyway, upon reaching the peak, the view was super amazing. It's worth every penny of the entrance ticket. This is the best view I've seen in Sri Lanka so far! I also like how we can just sit around and chill in the hot sun (is it even possible to chill under the heat???) and enjoy and 360 degrees scenery of the entire place! Mihintale is definitely deserving of its position as the No.1 attraction in Anuradhapura!
