Today's Poson Poya Day, which is a public holiday in Sri Lanka. The Poson Poya is a signifcant day for Sri Lankan Buddhists who celebrate the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka in the 3rd century B.C. Many religious activities are organised on this day, and we witnessed the "dansalas", which is giving food and drinks for free to people.

Beach just beside the Negombo Fish Market. They lay out the fish on the sand and sun-dry them here!

St. Mary's Church

St. Sebastian Church

We walked past many churches today, probably because Negombo's demographics consists of majority Roman Catholics. However, we also saw a couple of temples.

Had lunch at Coco's restaurant. We walked a long long way just to look for this restaurant. It didn't disappoint! The rice and curry was awesome.

After lunch, we decided to walk to look for the "tourist" side of Negombo Beach with the resorts and all. Haha, it's interesing to visit the beach beside the fish market but we wanted somewhere nice where we can just chill and relax!

Chilling and sun-tanning on the beach :)
After that, we took a tuktuk to Angurukaramulla Temple which is a famous Buddhist Temple. We also got to witness how they celebrate Posan Poya Day here.
